swyMed Wins Smart Solutions Award

Just this week, at the World of Health Care 2018 (WoHC), conference delegates voted swyMed as the winner of the Smart Solutions Award due to our DOT Telemedicine Backpack’s innovations in tackling challenges to modernize, optimize, and increase the quality, affordability, and accessibility of healthcare. Erik Gerritsen, Secretary General of the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, presented the Award—the World of Health Care Voucher 2018, which invites swyMed to join a Task Force Health Care (TFHC) international trade mission of our choosing—to John Kroon, VP swyMed EMEA (shown on the left in the photo above).

Unlike many other telemedicine platforms, which are limited to the inside walls of a hospital, the DOT Telemedicine Backpack includes everything needed for a reliable, exceptional-quality telemedicine visit, even in harsh or remote environments, by providing unparalleled connectivity. “For the first time,” explained Kroon, “it takes telemedicine to a new frontier with a plug-and-play backpack that enables real-time video telemedicine in truly mobile environments.” These features give mobile care providers the ability to link with distant specialists for real-time consultations from anywhere, any time.

The annual congresstival was hosted by TFHC in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This year, the event saw visitors from Dutch and international Life Sciences and Health organizations ranging from healthcare to business, government, civil society, and knowledge institutions. During the inspirational sessions, attendees learned about global and local health trends, challenges and opportunities in an interactive environment. swyMed constituted just one of 34 exhibitors—including brands such as Philips, Vanad, and Enraf Nonius—competing for attention from over 600 healthcare professionals, among them 100 international high-level decision makers from more than 10 countries.
